It was recently subject to a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS), which evaluates how effective a school is in delivering a high quality, distinctively Christian education.
And inspectors found the Whitmore Reans school 'makes a positive difference to the lives of its pupils and neighbouring community', demonstrating the commitment of leaders for all to 'flourish as precious individuals'.
Inspectors were encouraged to see the many ways that 'each learner is known and cherished and so enabled to grow in personal and academic terms' and how the school's inclusive, compassionate day to day work personifies its vision to be a 'Good Samaritan School'.
They also highlighted the work of St Andrew's pastoral team, who 'demonstrate great sensitivity in their response to families’ needs' and cherish individuals, offering the best possible support. The school meets a wider community need and is very much at the heart of the local area.
Other strengths noted include how collective worship is key to the sense of wellbeing and belonging, and how religious education is extremely well planned and led, and is enabling pupils to widen their cultural horizons.
Headteacher Lisa Thompson said: "I am delighted with the outcome of our recent SIAMS report that St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School is living up to its foundation as a Church school. All staff have worked exceptionally hard and are committed to making St Andrew's a place where we are meeting the needs of our diverse community.
"We are proud to be a ‘Good Samaritan School’ and we have ensured that his example of inclusivity and compassion inspires us to provide the very best for each and every child and their family."
Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Work, said: "I would like to congratulate everyone at St Andrew's CE Primary School on this very positive SIAMS report, which describes St Andrew’s as a school where the spirit of the 'Good Samaritan' lives on."
The SIAMS inspection is an Ofsted Section 48 inspection that all schools designated as having a religious character have to undergo on a regular basis.
