This year in addition to the breath taking main firework displays and bonfires, organisers are paying their respects on the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
As part of the grand finale to the fireworks show crowds will be reminded of the anniversary when a 'Tommy' takes to the stage in full infantry uniform while the Last Post is sounded.
Following a minute's silence crowds will be wowed by a spectacular poppy firework display honouring all those who lost their lives in the Great War and other conflicts.
The tribute will be held at both the Hickman Park bonfire and fireworks display next Friday (31 October, 2014) and the West Park event on Saturday 1 November, 2014.
Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "Our bonfire events are always very popular and this year we hope to see hundreds of families turn up to enjoy a spectacular display.
"We will also use both events to mark the centenary of the First World War with a minute's silence and a remarkable poppy display.
"This, together with our Festival of Remembrance on Sunday 2 November, followed by the services at the cenotaph on 9 and 11 November, will enable members of the public to pay their respects to all those who sacrificed so much in the First World War and in subsequent conflicts."
Families attending the bonfires are reminded that gates open at 6pm on both days with a display for children at 7pm, bonfire lighting at 7.30pm and the main firework display at 8.30pm. Tickets cost £4.50 for adults, £3 for children, with under twos going free. They are available on the door.
