Fans of the BBC Two series can have a go at using a pottery wheel, watch demonstrations and model funny faces during the gallery's Big Clay Play Day on Saturday 20 February, 2016.
The free family event will mark the launch of the Lichfield Street gallery's latest exhibition, Big Ceramics, which runs until Saturday 28 May, 2016, and features the work of 8 ceramicists who use clay to create objects of a monumental scale.
From giant human size vases to huge decorated pots, the gallery will be filled with works that celebrate the skill it takes to produce ceramics.
During the Big Clay Play Day, visitors will be able to get hands on with clay through interactive activities and demonstrations for all the family.
Ceramicist Gwen Heeney will be carving a large scale ceramic piece live in the gallery, while people will be able to have a go at throwing on the wheel with the 'flying potter' Jon Williams. They can also model a funny face in clay and take it home or work with Penguin Pottery to paint a unique ceramic piece to be fired and collected later.
Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "The Big Clay Play Day promises to be great fun for families and I'd encourage anyone who has been inspired by the Great Pottery Throw Down to come along and give it a go."

Wolverhampton Art Gallery is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and entry is free.
