The annual canvass undertaken in the city each year asking residents to ensure all household details are up to date on the electoral register is now underway, with reminder emails sent out to some residents last week.

Residents who have received an email from us about the electoral register should follow its instructions so that we know you’re registered and ready to vote.

A City of Wolverhampton Council spokesperson said: “The council is legally required to carry out an annual canvass to ensure that the electoral register is up to date, with the annual canvass running until Friday 1 December.

“This involves contacting every household in Wolverhampton using a variety of methods to keep the register of electors up to date. I ask everyone to ensure that they check their details; just follow the instructions and you'll be ready to have your say in future elections.”

Residents who have yet to receive any notification regarding the annual canvass and the requirement to update any details if necessary should note that they may be contacted by email, telephone or letter.

If there are any changes in your household, a response is requested and if there are none, you may not need to respond – the communication you receive from us will let you know what to do.
