Decision making
Full Council
In Wolverhampton all 60 elected Councillors meet regularly (every 6 weeks) as the Full Council to make decisions on a variety of issues.
Cabinet
The Cabinet makes decisions in line with the council's overall policies and budget. When major decisions are to be discussed or made, these are published in the Leader's Forward Plan.
The Forward Plan
The purpose of the Forward Plan is to help improve accountability and transparency of decision making in the council.
Committees
Some council decisions are dealt with by multi-party committees. Each party represented on the council fills the seats on committees based on their strength on the council as a whole.
Petitions
A petition allows members of the public to let us know their concerns.
Agendas, minutes and reports
A agenda is published for each of the various cabinet, scrutiny and committee meetings, normally 5 clear working days before the date of the meeting.
Contact Democratic Services
The Democratic Services Section is responsible for the administration and servicing of the council's decision making bodies together with other internal and external bodies.
