Sign up for Italian Job and enjoy unique work experience

Adults looking for employment can jet off on an Italian Job and get vital work experience in Europe.

The Outstanding rated Adult Education Wolverhampton is giving people the opportunity to learn new skills and get a taste of working in another country by signing up to the Erasmus Plus programme.

Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "Our Adult Education Service helps people gain employable skills and develop behaviours that will best equip them for the job market.

"This is a great opportunity for people who are currently not in work to discover a new direction and open up doors on a future career.

"Previous Erasmus Plus participants from Wolverhampton said that working and living abroad was a unique experience which helped them to define their goals, learn new skills and find employment.

"While on placement they have worked in nurseries, coffee bars, restaurants and hotels, schools and many more industries. Absorbing the culture was equally important as they got to know more about the Italian way of life, the food and drink and the people. They came home and put their new found skills into practice, with many securing employment in Wolverhampton.

"I'd encourage anyone who is inspired by the chance of getting vital work experience in Italy to find out more about this exciting opportunity, as there are a limited number of places available."

Successful applicants will join a special preparation programme where they will learn basic Italian and about Italian life and culture. They will then head off on their placement in the north of Italy. Placements are expected to last up to three months and will take place between April and July 2017.

The programme is free and participants will receive a monthly income from Erasmus Plus to cover daily living costs. Travel and accommodation is also included.
