As part of the work, the gym was made larger and now sees the addition of brand new high quality fitness equipment as well as the installation of new lighting, new flooring and a new sound system.

The amount of workout stations at the City of Wolverhampton Council run gym has increased from 19 to 24, whilst the free weights area has been expanded.

The update is part of an ongoing transformation of the WV Active offer, with the changing rooms and reception area at the city centre site also seeing a recent revamp.

Councillor Steve Evans, Cabinet Member for City Environment said: "The gym at WV Active Central has been modernised and refurbished to a high standard to provide our customers with excellent facilities.

"We've prioritised this work based on customer feedback; the gym at WV Active Central is now bigger and has more equipment of a higher quality, taking it up to the same high standard as our other leisure centres."
