Christmas bin collection details
City of Wolverhampton Council has released details for households whose normal bin collection days are affected by the Christmas break.

Calendars detailing alternative arrangements have been sent to all properties which would normally have their waste and recycling collected on Monday 26 December or Tuesday 27 December. Bin crews are not working on these days and bins will not be collected.
A normal service will apply on all other days.
Affected households are advised to check their calendars for information which will be specific to their address or if they have lost their calendar they can check the council website.
If a household misses a waste collection due to Christmas arrangements, their bin will be emptied on their next scheduled collection day (either 2 or 3 January). They will be allowed to place an additional 2 bags of excess waste next to their brown bins due to missing their previous collection.
Recycling arrangements are slightly different due to recycling collections being fortnightly. If a household misses a recycling collection due to Christmas arrangements, they will receive an extra collection the following week to ensure that they do not go 4 weeks without a collection. Arrangements will then revert to normal.
Residents are reminded that Christmas wrapping paper and polystyrene should be put in waste bins because they cannot be recycled.
Meanwhile, the council will be collecting real Christmas trees once the festive season is over.
From Monday 9 January to Friday 20 January people can put their real Christmas trees - not plastic ones - next to their black recycling bin on the kerbside on their scheduled recycling collection day.
Alternatively, Christmas trees can be taken to either of the council tips at Shaw Road or Anchor Lane - opening times are on the council website.
