This does not include asbestos produced from work carried out by a trader. In these instances, it is the legal responsibility of the trader to remove the waste.

Removing asbestos yourself
For safety, it is important to thoroughly read the guidance booklet provided with the bags before removing any asbestos waste.
The asbestos must be double bagged and completely sealed with no gaps to prevent the risk of fibres escaping. The bagged waste must also be a suitable weight and size for the collection staff to be able to lift (no more than 20kg in weight).
Bag sizes are 118 cm (height) by 88 cm (width).

What can be collected
Only the following types of asbestos can be collected within this bagged service:
- bath panels
- ironing board heat shields
- panels or corrugated roofing sheets from garages and sheds
- external drainpipes and guttering

The cost of a collection is £231.76 (including VAT) for up to 10 bags.
