It has moved to the Railway Street car park, off the A41 Oxford Street, WV14 0EP, from Mountford Lane and is open from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week.
It is 1 of 5 PCR sites around Wolverhampton, offering testing for people with symptoms of Covid-19 or who have been asked to get a confirmatory test after recording a positive rapid test.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "PCR testing remains a crucial tool in the fight against Covid-19 and we are determined to make it as accessible as possible to people across the city. We are pleased to have been able to relocate the test centre to the Railway Street car park after the closure of the Mountford Lane site last week."
Jenny Harries, CEO of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), added: “This new walk through site is part of our ongoing work to make it even easier for people who need a PCR test to get one.
“If you have developed a new continuous cough, a high temperature or a loss or change in sense of smell or taste, or you are asked or advised to get a test, please book one and follow any advice you’re given.
“As we return to a more familiar way of life, testing, and isolating when necessary, remain a vital way of controlling the spread of the virus and protecting one another.”
PCR testing is also available at Showell Road, off Stafford Road, Faulkland Street Car Park, Blakenhall Resource Centre and Whitmore Reans Library, from 8am to 8pm each day. Tests must be booked in advance at GOV.UK or by calling 119.

Latest figures show there were 360.8 new cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 people in Wolverhampton over the last 7 days. That means 949 people tested positive for the virus in that same period – though the true number of cases will likely be higher.
